About the Role
Bright Start Child Learning Center is seeking a warm, dedicated, and experienced Lead Teacher for our Toddler classroom serving children ages 1–2 years. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a central role in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environment where toddlers can explore, grow, and thrive. You will work closely with families and colleagues to ensure every child receives individualized attention and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and document a developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum aligned with toddler milestones
- Build and maintain warm, consistent relationships with children that support their social-emotional development
- Communicate regularly and proactively with families through daily updates, conferences, and written progress reports
- Collaborate with assistant teachers and center leadership to maintain a cohesive, supportive classroom team
- Observe and document children's development to inform curriculum planning and family conversations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or equivalent experience)
- NYS teaching certification or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred
- Prior experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare or early education setting
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for working with young children and families
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Minimum Education Level: Associate's Degree
- Preferred Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
