VHG Group is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Preschool Teacher to join its bilingual (French-English) preschool program in Dumbo, Brooklyn. The preschool serves children ages 3 months to 5 years in a nurturing, inclusive, and academically stimulating environment.
The Teacher will be responsible for creating and maintaining a warm, supportive classroom that encourages curiosity, independence, and a love of learning. This role involves designing and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans, fostering bilingual language development, and partnering closely with families to support each child’s growth.

- Lead and manage a classroom of preschool-aged children in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards and promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Foster bilingual (French-English) language development through interactive and engaging classroom activities.
- Observe and assess children’s progress to tailor instruction to individual needs and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with assistant teachers and staff to create a cohesive, supportive, and inclusive classroom culture.
- Establish and maintain positive, open communication with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, safety, and health regulations.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to a collaborative school community that reflects VHG Group’s mission and values.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (required) or current enrollment in an approved study plan with at least 12 completed credits in Early Childhood Education.
- Certification: NYS Early Childhood or Elementary Education Certification (strongly preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years classroom experience with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare or educational setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of child development and early learning standards.
- Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to create a warm, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a bilingual (French-English) program.
Language Skills: French language proficiency highly valued but not required.
- Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred Education Level: NYS Teacher Certification
