Teacher Aide

Description:

Work alongside teachers to promote the educational and social development of enrolled children. 

Report to Head Teacher and ultimately to the Educational Director or Executive Director

Supervise classroom when teacher is out, oversee unstructured free play and implement activities based on child development

Assist with daily tasks such as meals, toileting including diaper changing, and hand washing

Attend staff meeting and training events, and participate in program planning

Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment 

Interact with families, volunteers and other in a friendly and respectful manner

Treat each child with dignity and respect, and handle behavioral problems with a firm but confident tone of voice.

Share information appropriately with co-workers and maintain confidentiality when necessary
