Description:

  • The Nutrition Specialist is responsible for implementing the nutrition service area activities and provide expert specialized training, consultation, and mentoring for the transfer of nutrition-related information and skills to staff, children and parents of the Early Head Start and Head Start Centers.
  • The Nutrition Specialist also provides technical assistance to food service workers with the design of nutritional menus and the appropriate preparation of meals, as well as with safe food storage and the development of sanitary conditions and standards.   They also assure adherence to the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) regulations.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Minimum: Associates Degree in Nutrition or 2 year degree in related subject and four (4) years food service experience.
