The Capital District has an exciting opportunity to join our new team!

We are looking for a Lead Daycare Association Teacher to join our travel team of experienced educators!

Our Lead Daycare Association Teacher is highly self-motivated and will travel to our Early Learning Centers to provide a developmentally appropriate educational experience in the classroom using methods such as storytelling, games, and activities. Must love to travel, have a valid driver’s license, and transportation.

Job Functions:

  • Ability to work with ages 6 weeks to 5 years with confidence and effectiveness.
  • Plans and implements educational activities for the assigned classroom per the Teacher I’s instructions.
  • Steps in as classroom lead or area lead as needed and directs others.
  • Supervises play activities, meals and rest time.
  • Records children’s daily activities and maintains daily student records.
  • Maintains open and accurate communication with parents, center director, and coordinator.
  • Implements positive, supportive methods of behavior management.
  • Travels within local market to all CDYMCA Early Learning Centers based on the daily needs of each site.

    This is a full time position Monday through Friday, starting rate is $19.00 per hour, plus a $300.00 sign-on bonus!

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • AAS in Child Development, Elementary Ed, Physical Ed, Recreation or related field with no prior experience OR Child Development Associate Credential WITH one year prior experience OR 9 college credits in Child Development, Elementary Ed, Physical Ed, Recreation or related field WITH two years direct experience with children.
  • Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
  • Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
  • Submission of NYS Medical Statement of Childcare Staff Form documenting physician clearance to work in a childcare setting as well as TB Test which meets Health and Social Service requirement.
  • Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR; First Aid; AED; Blood borne Pathogens to be completed within 30 days of hire.
